How we handle your information.

A short, plain-language note about what data Wild About Learning collects, why, and what we do with it.

— 01 / What we collect

A small amount, on purpose.

Wild About Learning is a one-teacher practice. The data footprint is small by design.

When the discovery call form is wired up, it will collect your name, email address, your child's age or grade, and a short note about what you'd like to talk about. That's it.

If you email hello@chelsicryer.co.za or message +27 83 268 5188 on WhatsApp, those messages live in Chelsi's inbox and phone in the ordinary way.

What we don't collect: location data, browsing history, or tracking cookies. There are currently no analytics installed on this site. If that ever changes — for example, a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages families find useful — we'll add a banner and update this page first, and tell you what's collected and why.

— 02 / Why we collect it

Only what's needed to do the work.

Information you share is used to respond to your enquiry, schedule sessions, and keep you informed about your child's progress.

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with third parties for marketing. There is no mailing list to be added to without your knowing it.

— 03 / How we store it

Where the information lives.

Enquiries live in Chelsi's email inbox. Sessions, once scheduled, live in calendar entries. Session notes — the working notes that track what a child is doing each week — are kept in a secure local file system on Chelsi's own machine.

Notes are kept for the duration of the engagement plus twelve months afterwards, in case a parent or a future teacher asks for context. After that, they're deleted.

— 04 / Your rights

What you can ask for.

Under POPIA in South Africa, and under the GDPR if you live in the European Union, you have a clear set of rights over your information.

You can ask to see what we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete it. You can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator in South Africa, or with your local data protection authority in the EU, if you feel something has gone wrong.

Email hello@chelsicryer.co.za with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll respond within a reasonable time — usually within a week.

— 05 / Children's data

A note about the children we work with.

We work with children, but parents and guardians are the data subjects on our records. We hold information about a child only because their parent or guardian has shared it with us.

We don't publish children's names, photographs, or session content publicly. Any imagery used by the practice follows a POPIA-safe photoshoot brief — written consent from a parent or guardian, no identifying detail without permission, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.

— 06 / Changes to this policy

Updates, when they happen.

The practice is small and growing. As it grows — when analytics goes in, when an online booking tool is added, when the team is more than one person — this page will be updated to match. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will tell you when something changed.
